A Word on Judaism

Chosen by God, Israel is called a “holy people” (Dt). The word “holy” expresses a separation from what is profane and a consecration to God’s service. 

What does it mean to say Jesus is Jew?

It is above all by virtue of its historical origin that the Christian community discovers its links with the Jewish people. Indeed, the person in whom it puts its faith, Jesus of Nazareth, is himself a son of this people. So too are the Twelve whom he chose “to be with him and to be sent out to proclaim the message” (Mk 3:14). In the beginning, the apostolic preaching was addressed only to the Jews and proselytes…

Catholic and Jewish Relations

The Church has made a great leap in her relationship with Judaism and the Jewish people with the elaboration of a new teaching through documents published over more than 50 years. This new ecclesial way of thinking about Judaism urges Catholics to have a new Christian attitude towards the Jewish people and Judaism.
